Welcome to Stamford Youngtimers' home on the web!

Stamford Youngtimers Basketball League (SYTBB) is the largest ALL Girls basketball league in Stamford. Nearly all of the Girls High School players on the Stamford and Westhill High School teams (past and present) have played in the SYTBB league. Many of the current players are also coaching in the league.  The program runs from kindergarten to 8th grade and is a tremendous way for young girls to learn the game and play it the right way.

5th Grade Travel wins FCBL B Division Title!

The Stamford Youngtimers 5th Grade Travel Team captured the Fairfield County Basketball League B Division Championship with a 14-12 win over Wilton on March 13 at Middlesex School in Darien.   The Youngtimers finished the season with a 13-8 overall record.

Stamford jumped out to an early lead and battled an aggressive Wilton defense to get the win.  Lizzy Melton broke a tie game with 11.7 seconds remaining, sinking two free throws to give the Youngtimers the lead.  Harper Williams then collected the game’s final rebound to secure the victory.  Melton scored eight points overall to pace Stamford, which was made up of four 5th graders and five 4th graders.

The 5th grade team, coached by Andy Bekstrom, received great contributions from the entire roster which included Ava Burston, Lucy Cassidy, Emma Fox, Norah Manewal, Melton, Sarah Petersen, Chassity Smith, Sahana Bhat and Williams.

Congrats to these young ladies!
