Youngtimers Leadership Structure Update

Hope everyone had a great spring and summer and the kids are getting ready to get back to school. As Tim Frank notified everyone in March, he stepped down as president of the Stamford Youngtimers at the end of last season. We spent the summer working through the best ways to move forward and I’m pleased to say that many parents and friends of the program stepped up to offer their assistance. As a result, we have assembled an outstanding leadership team that will continue the success of this organization and work to grow it to even greater heights.

We're excited to share that the Youngtimers board has appointed Courtney Arnone and Frank Telesca to serve as Co-Presidents of the organization. Both Courtney and Frank have been integral members of the Youngtimers for several years now and will be tremendous leaders for our staff and girls in the program. For those that don’t know, Courtney played in this league, went on to star at Trinity Catholic High School and then re-joined us when her daughter, Olivia, first registered for the program seven years ago. She has served as our commissioner of the Little Timers program for the last two seasons and also has been a house league coach for the past seven seasons. Frank first joined our league as a coach when his oldest daughter, Kate, began playing in 2012. Since then, he has served a variety of roles to help the league even though his daughters both aged out. His dedication has been extraordinary. Both Courtney and Frank have great passion for the league and are super excited to continue to build the league and we are lucky to have them.

For at least this year, Tim will stay on as the Treasurer and Scheduler for the league. While he will continue to help in these roles, it’s important to emphasize that Courtney and Frank are in charge and will be the decision makers. We trust all of you will treat them with the same support and respect you were nice enough to provide Tim over his 13 years as the President.

Other key roles for Youngtimers going forward are the following: Rebecca Petersen is our league secretary, Jennifer Sheridan remains as the Starters League Commissioner, Matt Manewal is our newly-appointed Senior League Commissioner and Ben Guinta has agreed to be our Junior League Commissioner. Courtney will continue to be the Little Timers Commissioner.

Other board members going forward are Bill Hudock, Bryan Fox and Rick Safir.

Everyone on the board is excited for another outstanding Youngtimers season. As you plan, please know that we will have our September clinics in a few weeks for Grades 4 to 8 and registration will be posted once we confirm dates with Scofield. Currently, the plan is for those dates to be September 9, 10, 11 and 15, 17 and 18. More to come on that. Registration for the season will be posted in September and we’ll start our Junior and Senior evaluations (and travel tryouts) in October while the Starters and Little Timers programs will begin in December.

Thanks for your patience as we worked through all of this. We have no doubt we are set up for success and future growth. See you soon!
